The Fed

The Federal Reserve is a detriment to our country by a long shot. the government doesn't even really have control over its own currency. Federal Reserve is the largest buyer of U.S. public debt, enabling the government to live beyond its means. The Fed is a collection of 12 banks, TWELVE! It doesn't seem right to me that only 12 banks are controlling the entire country. The Fed operates independently, meaning its decisions don't have to be approved by the President or anyone. The Board of Governors oversees the 12 Federal Reserve Banks, which are located in major cities around the country. These banks are the banks ' bank ' loaning and transferring money like our banks do for us. So theoretically speaking, if The Fed were to stop loaning money, all of americas banks would run dry, even the government. The Fed has too much power.

Net Neutrality

Net Neutrality is when companies pay cable/radio/phone companies more money for their site or service to have a better signal. For example if Netflix paid internet companies more than Hulu pays then Netflix would stream faster and load faster than Hulu. Net Neutrality is extremely important to the public as well as big time corporations. Consumers for Hulu shouldn't have to wait to stream so Netflix consumers can stream faster. The Federal Communications Committee recently voted to regulate the internet which will eliminate this problem. Many companies and the public are extremely happy with this decision. Now Comcast won't be able to stream NBC 10 slower because they did a bad segment on them. All is fair!

HEAD OF STATE

Mays Gilliam's character grows throughout the movie in many ways. Mays is chosen by a political party to run for preseident so that in the next election a certain person could win. When Mays is asked to run for president he is extremely honored and happy. Throughout the movie his campaign
team had to control him because Mays just said what he thought. Towards the end of the movie Mays discovers that they had picked him because they wanted him to fail and he fires his campaign team. At this point Mays was doing really good in the election and he contined on by himself. One of Mays' team members begged him for another chance as well as May's campaign director and they continued on to win the election. Mays grew up in the ' ghetto ' and his politicl platform forcused a lot on the less fortunate and minoritys which ultimatley won him the election.

Why did the Article fail?

The Articles of Confederation failed for many reasons. One failure is located in Article IX. It states that only congress has the exclusive right and power of determining on peace and war, also no treaty can be made by the states only congress. This proved to be a failure during the civil war. Southern states believed that they should have more power, and according to the articles it was not going to happen. In order to overcome this obstacle, many southern states seceded from the union.  All in all the Articles of confederation were to centered on a strong central government which was not what the people wanted then. The failures continued due to disagreements over federal and state power.

Specialists say this might be the tip of the iceberg

In Missouri and throughout the mid west hundreds of children are being admitted to hospitals due to a respiratory virus. Ten states so far have contacted the CDC asking for help, these states include : Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Kentucky. As the peak of the season approaches the sudden out break isn't all that unusual. Enteroviruses which bring on very severe cold symptoms seem to be the culprit. 15 % of kids admitted are being admitted into intensive care, up to 30 children a day are coming into Missouri hospital. This particular type of enterovirus, EV-D68 is uncommon, but not new.It was first identified in the 1960s and there has been fewer than 100 reported cases since then. As of now there is no cure. The Ev-D68 virus can contribute to a fatality however none of the Missouri cases ended in death.
